Mario Kart 7 update data is now available

Nintendo has finally made available WORLDWIDE the update data for Mario Kart 7. This update data corrects several glitches in the game; mainly in the Online Multiplayer mode. The update data can only be downloaded from the Nintendo 3DS eshop AFTER you perform the latest system update that was made available yesterday.

Once you’ve performed the update, go the Nintendo 3DS eshop and you should see the update right away. Here’s the information provided by Nintendo regarding the update data:

“This is an update for the Mario Kart 7 game. This download does not contain the full version of the title. In order to use this udate, you must have the full version of Mario Kart 7, which is sold separately.

Downloading this update will resolver the shortcut exploits in the following online multiplayer mode courses:

- Wuhu Loop

- Maka Wuhu

- Bowser Castle 1

Starting 5/16/12, this update will be required for online multiplayer mode. You can still play single-player or local multiplayer without installing the update.

Once the update is complete, the update will be installed automatically. The update will be visible under System Settings > Data Management > Nintendo 3DS > Add-On Content. There will be no gift icon displayed on the HOME Menu after the download is complete. When Mario Kart 7 is launched, “Ver. 1.1″ will appear above the Online Multiplayer icon if the update was successful. Deleting the update will require you to download it again to play multiplayer online.

The latest Nintendo 3DS firmware update is now available worldwide

Great news! The latest Nintendo 3DS firmware update is now available worldwide! It arrived just in time in Europe and a few hours early in North America. It also is available for Japanese users and the rest of the world as well.

This firmware update adds the option to create folders to better organize your stuff in your Home Menu. It also adds the support for patches; this way, Nintendo and other companies can fix any bug or glitches in 3DS games, like Mario Kart 7. In addition, the eshop has been totally revamped! A brand new layout has been implemented and now it’s easier to look for games an applications as well as videos.

Mario Tennis Open, Mario Kart 7 and more to be playable at this year’s PAX East

Nintendo has revealed the Nintendo 3DS games that will be playable at PAX East. Gamers will be able to get their hands on Mario Tennis Open (launching May 20), Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir (launching April 13), Kid Icarus: Uprising and Mario Kart 7. Visitors to the Nintendo booth will also be invited to sample Nintendo 3DS games from third-party publishers, including Capcom’s Resident Evil Revelations. PAX East takes place April 6th-8th in Boston.

ONM ranks the top 100 games for Nintendo systems, five Nintendo 3DS games on the list

The Official Nintendo Magazine has offered its opinion on which is the top 100 games made for Nintendo systems. There is a total of five Nintendo 3DS games on the list. These games are:

61. Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS)

26. Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)

24. Star Fox 64 3D (3DS)

22. Mario Kart 7 (3DS)

04. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS)

Nintendo 3DS continues to dominate sales chart in Japan

It seems that Japanese gamers can’t get enough of the 3DS, with the stereoscopic handheld topping the weekly sales chart once again in the land of the rising sun.

Nintendo sold 67,558 3DS units last week, which was slightly down from last weeks number of 75,018, but it was still enough to hold a comfortable lead over Japan’s number two top selling console last week, the PlayStation 3 (sold 22,002 units). In terms of software, it was a pretty good week for the Japanese giants, Nintendo, with three Nintendo 3DS games landing in the top 5. Continue reading

New Nintendo 3DS commercials

IGN has uploaded to its website two brand new commercials for the Nintendo 3DS. These commercials are said to start airing all across North Amercia next week. The objective is to try to attract more buyers for the 3DS by showcasing the big games that have already been released on the console, like Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land.

Nintendo 3DS games dominate the Japanese sales chart

Three Nintendo 3DS games were the best selling video-games in Japan last week. The number 1 selling title last week was Mario Kart 7 (388,760), with Monster Hunter Tri G (319,037) not far behind and Super Mario 3D Land (298,529) securing third place.

Resident Evil Revelations marked its debut by selling 160,575 in its first week, enough to secure fifth place.

5 Nintendo 3DS games found in Japan’s top ten software sales list last week

Yes, that’s right; out of the ten top selling video games last week (26th Dec. to 1st Jan.) in Japan, five of them were Nintendo 3DS titles. The list includes Mario Kart 7, which in fact topped the entire list, with retailers selling 109,463 of the addicting racing game. Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling console of 2011 in Japan, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land were the best-selling games

It seems that Nintendo 3DS closed 2011 in a great way. The console crossed the 4 million units sold mark in Japan months before planned, which made it the best-selling console of 2011. Also, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land were the best-selling games of 2011, selling more than one million copies each. With 2012 just beginning, Nintendo 3DS has a great future ahead, and hopefully at the end of the year, it will be again the best-selling console. Don’t forget to leave a comment with your thoughts.

Nintendo 3DS breaks 4 million in Japan, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land hit 1 million

Japanese gaming publication, Famitsu has revealed that Nintendo has sold 4 million units of the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. Yesterday we reported that both Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land were close to breaking the 1 million mark.

Well it seems that both games have broken the 1 million mark. Mario Kart 7 has sold 1,082,391 units in Japan, whereas Super Mario 3D Land has sold 1,042,511.
