ATV Wild Ride 3D heading to the eShop and 3D screenshots released

The awesome folks at Renegade Kid have announced that instead of them looking for a publisher to you know, publish their game, Renegade Kid themselves will do it via the eShop. This pretty much means that we have another title to look forward to after Bomb Monkey.

Once ATV Wild Ride hits the eShop it will be the third offering from the Texas-based independent studio. ATV Wild Ride 3D will be released on the eShop later this year, along with 24 tracks to race on, the game will feature online multiplayer making it one of the most feature-packed eShop games to date.

Nintendo sold 13.35 million Nintendo 3DS units during its last fiscal year, the console will be sold for a profit by September

Nintendo has announced that it managed to sell 13.35 million 3DS units in the financial year which ended March 31st. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata also told investors that the company expects to sell around 18.5 million units this business year.

It was also revealed that Nintendo expects to make a profit on each Nintendo 3DS console sold by half of this fiscal year (around September 2012).

Nintendo planning to begin selling retail games digitally before April 2013

During Nintendo’s last financial results briefing in January, president Satoru Iwata made it clear that the company was readying itself to sell Wii U and 3DS retail software through digital means. These plans were reiterated today in Nintendo’s fiscal year earnings report. Here’s what the company had to say:

Moreover, Nintendo will push forward with “Nintendo Network”, which is the network service for the “Nintendo 3DS” and the “Wii U”, and offers game experiences, which enable users to compete and interact with others all over the world, and provide add-on content by utilizing its network functions.

Furthermore, for the purposes of adapting to the changes in the environment surrounding the video game market and creating new business opportunities, Nintendo is envisioning the digital distribution of packaged software and is aiming at expanding the business.

Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to stay connected even when they are on the go through Nintendo Zone, launching today across Europe. By using one of the approximately 25,000 Hotspot access points across the continent, you will be able to access free and exciting content via your Nintendo 3DS system.

To access Nintendo Zone when in one of the 25,000 Hotspots make sure you update your Nintendo 3DS today with the latest system update from Nintendo. To help you find your nearest Hotspot, Nintendo has also released a handy Hotspot finder tool – simply check http://hotspot.nintendo.co.uk to find your nearest Hotspot and then when you are nearby the Nintendo Zone icon will blink to notify you that you are within reach of a compatible Hotspot area.

The latest Nintendo 3DS firmware update is now available worldwide

Great news! The latest Nintendo 3DS firmware update is now available worldwide! It arrived just in time in Europe and a few hours early in North America. It also is available for Japanese users and the rest of the world as well.

This firmware update adds the option to create folders to better organize your stuff in your Home Menu. It also adds the support for patches; this way, Nintendo and other companies can fix any bug or glitches in 3DS games, like Mario Kart 7. In addition, the eshop has been totally revamped! A brand new layout has been implemented and now it’s easier to look for games an applications as well as videos.

Nintendo 3DS is back on sale at Amazon

Many weeks ago, Amazon.com revealed that they would stop selling Nintendo 3DS systems directly. Instead customers could only purchase them from third party merchants. Amazon.com never gave a direct reason for why they stopped selling the 3DS apart from that it was going to be “under review”.

However, Amazon.com is now selling the Nintendo 3DS directly. We’re still yet to receive a reason why they stopped selling it in the first place, but at least they’ve resumed selling it! You can buy the 3DS here.

Bird Mania 3D heading to the Nintendo 3DS eshop

Teyon has revealed that they will released Bird Mania 3D on the eShop in a couple of weeks. The game has been given a May 3rd date by Nintendo. However, we still don’t know for sure if the release will be worldwide.

Bird Mania 3D will be one of the cheapest 3DS eshop games we’ve seen so far, coming in at an affordable $1.99 price point. You can check out some screenshots of the game after the break. Continue reading

Order Up!! coming to North America as an eShop title, demo for the game to be released soon

Supervillian Studios has finally announced that the immensely popular Order Up!! is finally coming to the Nintendo 3DS in North America as an eShop title. The studio has already finished development of the game on the Nintendo 3DS and they are currently busy preparing a demo of the game that will be released soon. However, there’s no release date for both the game and the demo at the moment. But hopefully, we’ll get it soon.
