Capcom to drop the price of Resident Evil: Revelations from $50 to $40 in North America

A couple months ago, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations, would cost $49.99, which is $10 more than a typical release for the system. The company’s justification at the time was the game needed a 4GB cart instead of the standard 2GB that most 3DS games use. Today the company has revealed that Resident Evil Revelations will only cost $39.99 when it arrives in stores on February 7th.

In its announcement of the new price, Capcom explained it has been searching and negotiating for a way to bring Revelations’ pricing more in line with other 3DS games. Thanks goodness for us, those negotiations paid off!

Capcom makes a mistake in the Resident Evil: Revelations boxart

It appears that Capcom has incorrectly spelled “Revelations” on the Resident Evil: Revelations boxart. Bitmob’s Dan Hsu received the game today and quickly noticed the mistake. However, Capcom is no stranger to boxart screwups. The company made a huge mistake some years ago in the Okami (Wii) boxart. On it, you could clearly see the IGN logo as a watermark.

Let’s hope that Capcom will fix the mistake before the game is released this February 7th in North America. Don’t forget to leave a comment with your thoughts.
